ABOUT US About

Alumni 2004/2010 Set

The 2004/2010 set is a subgroup of the Global Alumni Association of Christ's School, Ado-Ekiti. The Alumni Association aims to support the school's academic excellence and traditions by providing moral, human, and financial support to staff and students. This includes donating essential resources and infrastructure to enhance educational outcomes and maintain the school's high academic standards.

The Christ's School Alumni Association operates through a network of chapters, sets, and branches. As the 2004/2010 set, we are one body united in our goal to reconnect and speak with one voice.

We held our first joint reunion at Christ's School, Ado-Ekiti, which took place a few years ago. These gatherings bring us together, allowing us to plan future reunions and strengthen our bond.

Through these events, we aim to:

  • - Harmonize our ideas and contributions to support the development of Christ's School, Ado-Ekiti

  • - Foster comradeship, cross-fertilization of views, and personal growth among members

  • Ultimately, the 2004/2010 Set remains committed to mobilizing its members to achieve our shared goal: playing a vital role in rebranding and uplifting Christ's School, Ado-Ekiti.

THE SCHOOL About

About the School

Founded by Archdeacon Henry Dallimore on the Agidimo Hills

Christ's School was founded by Archdeacon Henry Dallimore on the Agidimo Hills as Ekiti Central School and was formally opened on June 30, 1933, for elementary education. The school was later renamed "Christ's School" by Sir Bernard Bourdillion, the Governor of the Northern and Southern Protectorates of Nigeria, on September 10, 1936. The institution was built on the founding philosophy of the "3Hs": Head (academics), Hand (crafts), and Heart (moral training), with a catchment area that encompassed the whole of Nigeria.

In 1942, Christ's School was upgraded to a secondary school, and the first set of students was enrolled privately for the Cambridge School Certificate in 1945, with official registration for the School Certificate Examination following in 1948. Under the leadership of Canon L. D. Mason, who served as Principal from 1948 to 1966, the school experienced significant academic growth, producing accomplished alumni who went on to attend prestigious institutions in Nigeria and abroad. Many of these alumni have become leaders in their fields, occupying positions of authority in Nigeria and working as professionals worldwide.
